Hi, I'm - Michael Buhl

The beginning

I joined aviation following my passion acquired in July 1969, when watching the first lunar landing ( I was 5 years old then..). Later, after finishing my apprenticeship as an electrician, I joined the German Air Force as an “airborne radar specialist” analysing radar signals aboard an ECM Aircraft (HFB-320(M)). So I experienced 1200 hours as a “back seater”.

Becoming Language examiner

After completing my duty, I started the training for PPL(A) and obtained my license 1999. Since then, I have flown about 700 hours, upgraded to IR(A), CRI (SEP) and completed the training for LPE/LPR – for Slovak CAA as well as German LBA, as I wanted to make best use of my skills in English language.

I joined Aero Language network in 2021 as this team gives me the opportunity of working international but based at my homebase in EDFE. That brings me to my occupation in leisure time – flying, flying, flying… and making music in my own recording studio or in church.

My plans for future

In “normal life” I work as a process manager in IT/CS for a big global Data-Centre-Company – when I will be retired in some years I’ll focus on aviation activities and complete my training as a fully acknowledged Flight Instructor (FI(A)).
